COSTA RICA - DENTAL IMPLANTS - DIGITAL PANORAMIC X-RAY
If you are going to Costa Rica for dental implants you should have a "digital" Panoramic X-ray.
"Digital" just means that the X-ray is a digital file that will be sent to you in an email. It is usually a .jpeg file. Same kind of file that you use to send a picture via email. This is a one slide X-ray that shows the condition of all your teeth and more importantly the condition of the bone where the dental implants will be placed. A "digital" Panoramic X-ray should cost about $100.

Note - you DO NOT NEED a 3D scan. This is a whole series of X-rays. The problem is that the 3D file is every big and it can not be sent via email. If you are quoted a cost of about $300, this is 3D and you do not need that. There is enough information on a Panoramic to get a very good idea of the extent of the dental work you will need.
To get Pano, Google dental clinic with your ZIP code. Call a few. Tell them you just want to come in for a "digital" Panoramic. You do not want a consultation or cleaning. It takes 2 mins and cost $100. Most dental clinics will take you.
If you are being quote +$300 this is a 3D scan and is overkill. Not needed.
You do not need bite wings. This is a series of little slides that usually have about 3 teeth to a slide.
Unless it is the only way you can get a Pano, you do not want the old fashion - big piece of cellophane Pano - can't email.
