Most dental implants in Costa Rica are still titanium with a titanium abutment. In Costa Rica, for front teeth, they can also use titanium implants with a Zirconium abutment. The reason you would use a Zirconium abutment is that titanium abutments are darkish and sometimes can show through or darken a tooth.

The first Zirconium dental implants where 1 stage with the Zirconium dental implant and the Zirconium dental abutment consisting of one solid Zircoinum piece. They now have 2 stage Zirconium dental implants with separate Zirconium implant and separte Zirconium abutment.
