ONE TRIP - 1 STAGE / IMMEDIATE LOAD - DENTAL IMPLANTS

Teeth must already be extracted 4- 6 months prior to placing 1 trip dental implants. Recommended for denture or partial wearers where teeth have already been extracted. Can also be used for single extraction sites, primarily in the lower jaw, where again site has had 4 - 6 months to heal.

Not mini implant
Dental implant is placed through the gum tissue with abutment attached – flapless surgery.
After implant is place, crown or other attachment can immediately be attached to dental implant. However, you have to wait 5-7 business days for your permanent crown to be made.
Procedure time – 5-7 business days.

One trip dental implants are placed during your very first dental visit. Each one trip dental implant takes about 15 mins. to painlessly insert. Then a temporary crown is placed on top of each dental implant. You actually leave the dental clinic the first day with "new" temporary teeth. Then there is a wait of about 5-7 business days before the permanent dental crowns are manufactured and then placed. And then another dental visit the next day to insure that the one trip dental implant has taken and the dental crown has been placed correctly. No return trip required.

TWO TRIP - 2 STAGE / DELAYED LOAD - DENTAL IMPLANTS

Recommended for arch or full mouth restoration where multiple teeth have to be extracted. Also for single sites where tooth has to be extracted first. Prefer method for upper arch molars even if tooth has already been extracted.

Gum is cut to expose jaw bone. Gum is flapped back. Dental implant placed in exposed jaw bone. Site sutured.
Abutment not attached at time of implant placement.
After 4-6 months, the gum tissue over the dental implant is cut to exposed the head of the dental implant.
An abutment is placed on the implant and then a crown is placed on the abutment. Procedure time - minimum 4-6 months.
In some cases, due to other complications – bone graft/sinus lift, are required.

Requires 2 trips to Costa Rica of from 4-7 business days each. First trip dental implant without abutment is placed. Second trip, 4-6 months after first, abutment with crown is placed.
